Find Your Zone

Most people already know it as “The Zone.” It’s a state of timeless, effortless clarity that exists when a person is fully immersed in an activity. We’ve found from countless hours of research that the activities we provide are a foolproof method of engaging the mind and body to a high enough extent that The Flow State is all but guaranteed.

You don’t have to be “a dancer” or “coordinated” to start. Flow arts are super beginner-friendly: you learn simple patterns, your body slowly understands the rhythm, and then one day it just clicks… that’s your flow state.

Your First Flow Jam

Flow arts might look like simple circles and spinning from the outside, but underneath, it’s working on mind, body, spirit, community, and confidence all at once—through movement, self expression, and a whole lot of play.

  • Every jam has a soundtrack — expect bass, beats, and rhythm that moves you.
  • Props available — we bring poi, hoops, staffs, and LED props. Try something new. No skill required.
  • Fire performances — watch professional fire spinning up close, or sign our waiver and give it a try yourself!
  • Welcoming community — regulars and newcomers mix freely. Come alone or bring friends. You'll leave with more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need experience to come to a Flow Jam?

Not at all. Spread The Flow Jams are designed for everyone — complete beginners, curious newcomers, and experienced spinners alike. You don't need any prior skill or knowledge. Just show up with an open mind and a willingness to play. Our instructors are there to help, and the community is welcoming. Many people spin for the first time at a Spread The Flow Jam and leave feeling empowered.

What exactly are flow arts?

Flow arts are movement disciplines that blend object manipulation, rhythm, coordination, and creative expression. Think poi, hoop, staff, fans, and other props — but it's so much more than just spinning things. Flow arts train your mind, body, and spirit at the same time. They improve coordination, focus, and presence while giving you a creative outlet for self-expression. The goal is to reach “flow state” — that feeling of total immersion where movement and mind sync up. At Spread The Flow Jams, we create environments where you can explore these disciplines, connect with community, and experience the magic of movement.

Is a Flow Jam a party or a learning environment?

It's both. The vibe is playful, creative, and social — people connect, have fun, and enjoy music and community. At the same time, there's genuine learning happening. Instructors offer guidance, people help each other, and there are moments built in for skill-building and exploration. You can go as deep or as casual as you want.

Do I need my own props?

No. We have a full prop library at every Spread The Flow Jam — poi, hoops, staffs, fans, and more. Everything you need to start spinning is there and ready to use. Just show up and grab what interests you.

What time should I arrive?

Show up when the Spread The Flow Jam starts. You'll find the specific start time on the event page for whichever Spread The Flow Jam you're attending. And hey — feel free to come early and hang out at the venue, grab a drink, and soak in the atmosphere. Stick around after too if you want. The space is yours to enjoy.

Do I need to register in advance?

Nope. Just show up. No pre-registration needed.

What's the age policy?

Spread The Flow Jams are community events and we welcome people of all ages. That said, some of our venues are bars with their own age restrictions. Check the specific event page or venue details to confirm what the age policy is for that particular location.

If I'm going to spin fire, what do I need to wear?

If you're spinning fire, you'll need to wear organic materials — natural fibers like cotton or wool. Synthetic fabrics can melt, which is a safety issue. Make sure your clothing covers your skin appropriately. Our instructors will give you guidance on this if you're planning to spin fire.

Is there a cost to attend?

Spread The Flow Jams are free to the public. No ticket, no cover charge. Just show up and experience it.

What if it rains?

Most of our venues have covered or indoor space, so jams happen rain or shine. If a venue ever has to cancel for weather, we'll post it on our Instagram first.
